Dear Family,

It has been a year of construction. We have been rebuilding, renovating and mending, not only our physical church venue in Roosevelt High School, but also in our personal capacities. We started 2019 with a church venue that was a building site and for much of the first half of the year, that is all it seemed to be. From week to week, we started to see progress. We learnt patience and grace. We learnt that, as in the physical, God’s restorative work in our lives often happens little by little. Just like the engineers at the school hall had to work step by step to keep the building stable, God, the Master Builder, also doesn’t just rip out supporting walls in our lives. He works strategically, knowing each step of the process.

Rochelle and I would like to thank you for your patience with the physical building process. Thank you for sticking through it with us when the sound was at its worst. At times it was difficult to hear but our hearts remained eager to worship the One who is worthy, in good sound and in bad.

We would like to celebrate God’s faithfulness in 2019 on the 24th of November at our Sunday service. We will worship together and share testimonies. We will celebrate new family members and volunteers in between a light bring & share brunch.

I would like to ask you to look back in your journals and remember the testimonies of God’s faithfulness in your life. David reminds us in Psalm 40:10;  “I have not hidden your deliverance within my heart; I have spoken of your faithfulness and your salvation; I have not concealed your steadfast love and your faithfulness from the great congregation.”

Not everyone is always able (or willing!) to share their testimony over a microphone, but all of us have testimonies, whether they feel big or small, of what God has done in our lives. We would like to create a testimony wall to remind us, that even though we go through what feels like the valley of the shadow of death, we won’t fear, because God is with us. We participate in each other’s victory by sharing God’s hand actively working in us and for us, as Revelation 12:11 says: “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.”.

Whether a paragraph or a full page, you can send through your testimony to randburg@shofaronline.org.

Please diarise and share this special morning with all of the Randburg family.

Blessings,
Hennie
